this is my 1st time celebrating syawal apart from my family..but its ok...malam raya tu sadis sikit...tp once dah jmpe kawan2..and all ...i feel like Hari raya too in Melbourne...

GEMA takbir di pagi 1 Syawal pasti menyentuh jiwa setiap insan yang mendengarnya terutama apabila terpaksa berada di perantauan dan berjauhan daripada keluarga tersayang.

Andai diturutkan rasa hati, kegembiraan di hari kemenangan umat Islam selepas sebulan berpuasa pastinya harus dirai bersama keluarga, namun kerana tuntutan kerja, ia harus diketepikan.

Itulah dirasai pelumba negara, Azizulhasni Awang yang terpaksa beraya di pangkalan latihan kem basikal negara di Melbourne buat kali kedua.

Hatinya pasti tersentuh tatkala terkenang mencium tangan kedua ibu bapa, perkara wajib yang dilakukan setiap pagi 1 Syawal. Apabila mengingati detik itu, kesedihan pasti meruntun jiwa.

Namun, Syawal kali ini sedikit menceriakan pemenang pingat perak Kejohanan Dunia dalam acara pecut 200 meter itu apabila dapat beraya bersama insan tersayang, Athiah Ilyana Abdul Samat (Tya), serta ramai rakan seperjuangan yang lain.
“Jika tahun lalu hanya saya, Fatehah (Mustapa), Junaidi (Mohd Nasir) dan (Mohd) Edrus (Md Yunus) tapi tahun ini lebih meriah. Ada pelumba endurance bersama kami kali ini.

“Kehadiran Tya sedikit sebanyak dapat mengubat kerinduan saya terhadap keluarga sekurang-kurangnya ada teman saya di sini biarpun pasti kedua-dua kami tidak dapat menahan rasa rindu terhadap keluarga masing-masing,” katanya.

Azizul berkata, dia memulakan pagi 1 Syawal tahun lalu dengan berkumpul bersama rakan sepasukan di gimnasium kem latihan pasukan sebelum bergerak menunaikan sembahyang sunat Aidilfitri di Malaysia Hall bersama rakyat Malaysia yang lain.

“Tahun ini jadualnya pasti sama, pagi raya kami akan ke gimnasium dan kemudian bersembahyang raya.

“Tahun lalu, jurulatih John Beasley bersama isterinya membawa kami melawat zoo sebelum kembali berlatih pada sebelah petang tapi tahun ini saya harap dapatlah kami cuti, maklumlah ramai atlit di Melbourne, jadi dapatlah kami beraya,” katanya yang gemar makan lemang.

Jika berbicara mengenai suasana, anak muda kelahiran Dungun itu berkata, pengertian raya pada dirinya sama saja seperti rakan seagama kerana umat Islam akan meraikan hari kemenangan.

Begitu juga suasana di Melbourne, biarpun tidak sama dengan Malaysia namun auranya tetap dirasai.

Mengulas mengenai persediaannya tahun hadapan, Azizul yang turut melanjutkan pelajaran dalam bidang pengurusan sukan di Universiti Deakin, Melbourne, berkata, dia perlu bijak menyusun jadual latihannya dan pelajaran.

Menurutnya, tahun hadapan detik paling sibuk baginya kerana perlu memberi tumpuan terhadap dua kejohanan utama iaitu Sukan Komanwel dan Sukan Asia.

hi. it's been a year since TWILIGHT came up..

i can't say that it's been non stop previewing because the reality is EDWARD CULLEN is *missing*soon..but wait..JACOB is a *serigala jadian*
i knew A to Z about the movie already..but i just cant wait to see my hero acting again!
since my *gila-gila Twilight* abang atlit kini sudah kenal sapa itu EDWARD CULLEN..ucapan tahniah dari Petronas untuk semua....

but. i will say...i cant wait to watch CULLEN's family again......i watched 3 times TWILIGHT!thats bad..not good for health..last time was in pavi..time tu only me and my friends..hahah..smapi Edward Cullen dtg terbang2 dalam wayang......ok tak seram..!memang tak seram sbb ...kalau ada hantu macam Edward Cullen..i dont think semua orang takut..jatuh cinta ada la..especially budak2 pakai kain biru skolah ..alah..macam cek tak tau..suma dok gila..!

Homemade Donuts

DONUTS si debab ..gemok!

i m planning to make homemade donuts one day..(plan baru)*sniff*
still,now i have no *precious* time to make these..
but im sure i'll try to do something amazingly..

Fried Donuts

Items Needed

• 3 tbsp Shortening
• 2/3 cup Sugar
• 1 Egg, beaten
• 2/3 cup Milk
• 1 tsp Grated Nutmeg
• ¾ tsp Salt
• 3 cups Flour
• 5 tsp Baking Powder
• Oil, for frying
• Powdered Sugar
• Bowl
• Pastry Board/ Flat Surface
• Doughnut Cutter

Instructions

• Put shortening and sugar in a bowl and cream together.
• Mix in beaten egg to the shortening-sugar mixture.
• Now, add milk, while stirring constantly.
• Add nutmeg, salt, flour and baking powder.
• Knead the mixture, to form stiff dough.
• Dust a pastry board or any flat surface with flour.
• Roll out the dough on the board/surface, to a thickness of about ¼ inch.
• With the help of a cutter, cut out doughnuts from the dough.
• Fry the doughnuts in hot oil.
• Take them out, let them cool a bit and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
• Doughnuts are ready to be served.
  

Baked Doughnuts

Items Needed

• 2 packages Yeast
• ¼ cup Warm Water
• 1½ cups Scalded, Cooled Milk
• ½ cup Granulated Sugar
• 1 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp Nutmeg
• ¼ tsp Cinnamon
• 2 Eggs, beaten
• 1/3 cup Shortening
• 4½ cups All-purpose Flour
• ¼ cup Melted Margarine
• Cinnamon Sugar (for topping)
• Bowl
• Blender
• Pastry Board/ Flat Surface
• Doughnut Cutter
• Greased Baking Sheet
• Spatula

Instructions

• Take a large bowl and in it, dissolve yeast in warm water.
• Now, add milk, granulated sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, eggs, shortening and 2 cups of flour to the dissolved yeast.
• Blend all the ingredients, mentioned in the above step, together, for 30 seconds. Make sure to scrape the bowl constantly.
• Using a blender; beat them at medium speed, for 2 minutes.
• Stir in remaining flour, until the batter becomes smooth.
• Cover the batter and set aside, for about 1 hour, to let it rise until it becomes double in size.
• Dust a pastry board or any flat surface with flour.
• Turn the dough on the board/surface and roll around, to let it coat with flour.
• Now, roll it our.
• With the help of a cutter, cut out doughnuts from the dough.
• Take a greased baking sheet and with the help of a spatula, place the doughnuts on it, 2 inches apart.
• Now, brush them with melted margarine.
• Cover the doughnuts and set aside, for about 20 min, to let them rise until they become double in size.
• Bake in a preheated over, at 425 degrees F, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
• Take them out, cool a bit and brush with melted margarine.
• Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar.
• Doughnuts are ready to be served.

now ..im nearly at the end of semester..and guess what?i have 1 more year to go to finish my Master..insya -Allah..well,is there anyone out there..knows what picture is this?

Architects Denton Corker Marshall have won a competition to design the Te Wero Bridge in Auckland, New Zealand.

The twin-leaf aluminium bascule bridge will carry cyclists, pedestrians and buses between the city centre and Wynyard Quarter, a regeneration area on the waterfront.

The bridge features two liftable decks - one for vehicles and the other for pedestrians and cycles - supported by a 60 metre high mast.

NEWS RELEASE

Architects Denton Corker Marshall, working in collaboration with engineers Hyder Consulting and Kenneth Grubb Associates, have won the international design competition for the Te Wero Bridge in Auckland, New Zealand.

The NZ$50 million bridge will link the city’s CBD with Wynyard Quarter – an industrial area of Auckland’s waterfront that will be transformed over the next 25 years. Intended for public transport/cycle/pedestrian use, the Te Wero Bridge is a twin leaf bascule aluminium bridge with a vertical tower/mast of 60m.

The deck is split longitudinally into two separate components: the south leaf, longer and broader than the north, carries the two road lanes; the north leaf provides a 6m wide pedestrian/cycle path. The bridge will have an opening span of 40 metres to enable large boats to access Viaduct Harbour.

As the bridge opens, the two leaves separate coming to rest in a ‘V’ configuration with the decks angled obliquely to the mast and each other. The aerodynamic silhouette of the leaves suggest the modern sails of contemporary racing yachts.

Describing the design, Director Neil Bourne commented, “At rest, the striking mast stands sentinel in the heart of the harbour. In motion, the blades rise, split and then separate, twisting so edge becomes face. Upright, the three elements settle into a dynamic, yet elegant, composition.”

Professor John Hunt, Professor of Architecture at the University of Auckland and Chair of the Judging Panel said, “The judging panel agreed that this striking submission stood out from others in respect of its high level of design innovation and the unique way the twin leaves open.”

The design team are Denton Corker Marshall, Hyder Consulting and Kenneth Grubb Associates. Further details of the winning submission and a video demonstrating the opening sequence of the bridge can be viewed on www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/waterfront. Other shortlisted competition entries included submissions from Wilkinson Eyre and Anish Kapoor.
